Dongying Port Nears Completion of 250,000-tonne Crude Oil Terminal
2025-11-27
Two newly commissioned 66-kV substations, dedicated to supporting the 250,000-deadweight-ton(DWT) crude oil import berth at Dongying Port, China, have officially passed commissioning and acceptance checks of China's State Grid. The successful integration into the main grid system will provide robust operational assurance for the terminal's safe, stable, and efficient functioning.

The two newly grid-connected 66-kV substations serve as the core power supply guarantee for Dongying Port's 250,000-deadweight-ton crude oil import berth. The land-based substation is tasked with receiving and distributing robust power supply from the State Grid, while the step-up platform substation at the forefront ensures stable and efficient electricity transmission to all major loading/unloading equipment and intelligent control systems on the platform. Both substations employ cutting-edge smart substation technology, significantly enhancing the reliability and intelligent operation of the power supply system.
The 250,000-deadweight-ton crude oil import berth and its supporting facilities at Dongying Port address the absence of ultra-large terminals in the city. Upon completion, the project will boost the Port's crude oil unloading capacity and reduce overall logistics costs for nearby petrochemical enterprises.
A representative from the Dongying Port Development Group, the project contractor, stated that efforts will now focus on advancing subsequent equipment commissioning and specialized acceptance procedures to ensure the early operational launch of this "mega-terminal," thereby leveraging greater port capacity to support high-quality regional economic development.
